RMB Chivenor

Commando Logistic Regiment Royal Marines (CLR RM), Chivenor is home to about 620 personnel from all three services, including Mechanical Engineers, Medics and Logisticians. No other unit has such an eclectic mix of cap badges working together. The Regiment’s purpose is to provide every aspect of combat service support for 3 Commando Brigade, anywhere in the world. In particular the Regiment’s aims are to provide support for brigade amphibious operations when sea based, during offload across a beach or port and over a large battle space on land. 

24 Commando Engineer Regiment conducts operations in support of 3 Commando Brigade, Royal Marines and the other Army units that make up the Brigade - members are trained to operate in the jungle, across deserts, over mountainous terrain and under arctic conditions.

RMB Chivenor is located along the beautiful North Devon coastline between the town of Barnstaple and the village of Braunton. Close by are beaches, villages, market towns, craft centres, places of natural beauty, walks and attractions to suit everyone, families and single personnel alike.

The Community Centre houses your HIVE, the Community Facilities Manager, Coffee Shop, Parents and Toddlers Group, Child Health Clinic as well as an Information Room equipped with internet access PC's. The Saddle Club is situated near the Community Centre, as are the nursery and pre-school. The Gymnasium and Squash Courts are free to use and they also house a variety of clubs such as gymnastics, ladies fitness and karate. Your local community pub is The RV and has party rooms available for hire. For racetrack enthusiasts, Chivenor Chicane Raceway club meets regularly throughout the week. The Unit Church is located just before entering the camp gates and holds regular services.
